Amalgam 成军在英伦传统爵士转向自由的阶段，算是一个非固定的组合，最早的成员以Trevor Watts 为主，陆续有Harry Miller, John Stevens , Keith Rowe, Keith Tippett 等人参与不同的专辑录音或现场。组合最后的录音作品是有Keith Rowe 参与的Over The Rainbow，发表于1979年。
Prayer For Peace 共三首曲子，即兴作品Tales Of Sadness 衬和标题主线，14多分钟哀伤的布局。组曲Judys’ Smile 有着英伦风的结构叙事，最后Prayer For Peace 临时加入的Barry Guy 带来层次丰富的弓弦，虽然是以Bass演奏，却依然有着异曲同工之妙。
这不是一张激烈风格的作品，沉默如夜的哀伤，等待黎明的坚韧，都在组合并不汹涌的演绎里流动。
